North Carolina native Vivian Howard is a chef and TV personality who brings her Southern upbringing to the tastes and flavors of each of her restaurants, award-winning Chef & the Farmer, the Boiler Room, and Benny’s Big Time Pizzeria. Vivian is well decorated with accolades, including her selection as a James Beard Foundation Award semifinalist five times running for Best Chef: Southeast. She premiered in 2013 in A Chef’s Life, the award-winning documentary television series celebrating Eastern North Carolina food traditions, winning a Daytime Emmy Award, a Peabody Award, a James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Personality/Host. In 2016 she released her first New York Times best-selling cookbook, Deep Run Roots: Stories and Recipes from My Corner of the South.
